On April 29th, Tbilisi 12th International Dental Congress was held at the Pullman Tbilisi Axis Towers in Tbilisi. Invited dentists not only from Tbilisi, but also from different regions of Georgia attended this annual dental congress.
The congress was held with the support of the Georgian Dental Association, Albius Dental Center and the Association of Periodontists and Implantologists of Georgia.
In parallel with diverse and multidisciplinary professional topics, an exhibition of doctoral posters was held within the congress. The attending public had the opportunity to get acquainted with the ongoing research in the dental field.
The President of Congress Radix, Nino Nebieridze, opened the event and nominated Elene Kharashvili and Keti Gelashvili as honorary members of the organization for their constant support and cooperation.
The scientific part was opened by Ketevan Gogilasvil, president of the Association of Dentists of Georgia, and Mari Malazonia, president of the International Association 930, doctor of medicine, nutritionist. Lasha Dolidze, the deputy dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the European University in the direction of program development, “First aid during cardiac arrest and airway obstruction” provided the audience with information on the assessment of the need for first aid and technical implementation. Regarding the collection of diagnostic data and treatment planning, Leonid Emdim offered his colleagues a very interesting and new dental program for Georgia at this stage. Italian endodontist, Enrico Kasai, spoke about the importance of selecting and using an ultrasound device in endodontic practice. Zurab Iakobishvili, orthopedist of the Albius dental center, presented to the Georgian audience on the important and most popular issue of aesthetic dentistry, “digital transformation of the smile”.
The end of the conference was the most interesting and innovative. For the first time in Georgia, a live broadcast of the operation was carried out by the founder of the Association of Periodontists and Implantologists of Georgia, member of the board of Radix, student of the Sapienza master’s program and head of the Albius Perio School, surgeon periodontist Thea Natsvlishvili. During the operation, the listener had the opportunity to hear from the country’s leading periodontist surgeon and see with his own eyes: the stages of surgical intervention planning, the peculiarities of the operation and ask questions live.
