Dear colleagues,
It is a great pleasure that I present the summary of International Congress of Lithuanian Dental Chamber – “Dentistry for Human Health”.
For any medical practitioner it is a great honor to receive invitation from foreign country at international congress to share your own knowledge and experience with foreigner doctors, students and residents. Such an honor and a great responsibility came by Lithuanian Dental Chamber when they have chosen 3 of Radix board members: Gvantsa Tabaghua, Zurab Alkhanishvili and Nino Gvasalia, as a speakers at International Dental Congress in Lithuania.
Despite a number of local and international participation in conferences, to present your report in foreign country was full of emotions and expectations. However, our visit to Lithuania exceeded expectations on every way. From the beginning, I would like to thank the head of the congress organizing committee Dr. Gintaras Januzis and our host Dr. Arunas Tursa for the invitation, warm welcome and wonderful hospitality.
The Congress was held in the beautiful city and Spa – Resort Druskinikai, 31 May – 1 June. The Congress was divided into different themes and was presented to the parallel conference halls. The number of attended dentists was approximately 2000 person. Parallel with congress was represented dental materials and equipment exhibition – sale.
The presentations of Georgian delegation were successful and very interesting for the attended audience. We have presented reports associated with main theme of congress: Dr. Gvantsa Tabaghua – “Dental and Medical Co-management of Pregnancy”, Dr. Zurab Alkhanishvili – “Dental Diseases and Treatment features with Autism Spectrum Disorder”, Dr. Nino Gvasalia – “Denial of Visit to the Dentist: Phenomenon of Pain and Fear”. Besides of Georgian speakers interesting scientific reports was presented by doctors from Ireland, USA, Mongolia and etc. It was a great honor to meet such interesting colleagues from different countries. Dr. Tom Feeney, Dr. Jude Martin, Dr. Daavaadorj Purevsuren and lots of other foreigner colleagues, thanks for your friendly and pleasant company in these days.
On June 1, congress was officially closed and the participants were able to make a 2-day vacation in this beautiful city of Lithuania – Druskininkai. Georgian delegation was very lucky and had an opportunity to spend amazing 7 days in Lithuania. After the closing of the congress, thanks to our hosts, we were acquainted with the city Druskininkai – have tasted local natural mineral water, visited the artificial ski resort and Aqua center of city (first in my life I visited the Turkish and Egyptian sauna, have tasted Jungle storm and rain in Atlanta, we were lying on the hot Greek rocks and enjoyed sunbathing). Honestly, beside the congress, that was one of the amazing and unforgettable memories from this city.
After 2 amazing days in Druskininkai we moved to the small picturesque village of Lithuania, where we had a chance to bake delicious Lithuanian bread by ourselves and took part into a cultural evening where we shared to each other different national and cultural values.
Next we visited one of the beautiful city of Lithuania – Kaunas. Kaunas is a pretty city with its beautiful views, delicious cuisine and warm, welcome people. Here we visited the Museum of Medicine in and went sightseeing in the ancient city.
After visiting the city Kaunas we moved to Trakai, we visited the ancient fortress and enjoyed warm, cozy atmosphere of this area.
Our last destination was the capital of Lithuania – Vilnius. Unlike the other cities we visited, Vilnius is quite lively, with skyscrapers and modern architecture. Despite the lack of time we could walk almost the whole city, enjoyed nightlife of Vilnius and fell in love with this country totally.
At the end I would like to thank organizers Dr. Gintaras Januzis and our host Dr. Arunas Tursa for the invitation and warm welcome, once again. Also, congratulate them with the successful Congress and hope to see them in Georgia at 4TH international congress of RADIX!
Kind regards,
Dr. Gvantsa Tabaghua, DMD, PhD student, General Secretary of Radix.
